Custom Pet Urn
Custom Pet Urn
Keep your pet's memory alive with a handmade decorative custom urn!
This artwork is created by me and made to order with your personalized animal portrait.
GETTING STARTED
#1 Place your order.
Select the urn size and customization options.
You may choose to have text on the reverse side of the urn; up to 4 lines of personalization. Examples might be your pet's name, nickname, birth and death dates, an image (red or gold heart, paw print, bone) or a personalized message.
ATTENTION: If you are adding dates PLEASE check and double-check to make sure you typed the correct dates!
Flowers: I don’t offer specific flower designs since the vintage floral decals vary, but you’re welcome to choose a general floral palette (like soft, vivid, gold, delft blue or black outline), and I’ll select what complements your pet’s portrait and urn size best.
#2 Upload photos at Checkout
Please submit a high-resolution photo: front facing, good lighting and close-up (be sure not to crop out the ears!) The better quality the photo the more accurate the portrait will turn out.
#3 Production
Once I get the portrait sketched out I will send you an update, changes can be made at this time.
#4 It’s a wrap!
When the piece is complete I will send you a photo prior to shipping for your final approval. From beginning to end the process takes about 3-4 weeks (a little longer during peak shopping seasons, please order early if you need it by a certain date).
DETAILS
Each urn is individually wheel thrown in stoneware.
Small urn measures 4”tall, 3”wide and holds about 1 cup, a 0-12 pound pet
Medium urn measures 5”tall, 4” wide and holds 2.25 cups, a 12-30 pound pet
Large urn measures 6"tall, 5" wide and holds 4.5 cups, a 30-60 pound pet
NEW! Extra Large urn measures 7" tall, 4.8" wide and holds 5.5 cups, a 60-80 pound pet (a large dog)
The top includes a fitted wooden top.
The animal featured is painted using underglazes against the natural clay background and covered inside and out with a thick coat of transparent gloss glaze. The colors will never fade. It is kiln fired to 2000 degrees.
I typically sign and date the bottom of the urns. If this is a sensitive piece and you would prefer me to leave it blank on the bottom please let me know!
PHOTO TIPS
I work directly from the photo that you provide. Feel free to send additional photos depicting the markings or coloring to give me a clear idea of the pet’s essence.
Natural lighting is the best choice to show the true color of your pet.
Eye color (especially in cats) changes in different lighting, please let me know the eye color, even if it looks obvious to you!
You know your pet- if your photo doesn’t show that tiny spot on the top of your dog’s head or the little tuft of white fur on your cat’s chest, please make a note of it when you submit your photo. The more information I have the better your portrait will be.
